June. The month when nature comes into its own and we finally stop pretending we have not noticed. It is hard not to love it: wonderfully long days and warm, fragrant evenings, with no need to explain why you are done for the day. That is the point. Everything is growing, blooming and taking a breath, including you. Instead of finding another way to make the most of every minute, perhaps it is time to step out of the race.
Light a beeswax candle. Something simple and honest.
A gentle honey scent.
A warm glow.
No grand promises, just a candle doing what a candle does.
It does not shout for attention. It simply invites you to pause and reminds you that you do not need to put everything into words to appreciate it.
And what about Whitsun? For generations, this was a time to freshen up the home and welcome greenery inside. A few branches, candlelight and a little quiet can be enough to feel grounded again.
So yes, a candle. Some greenery. Perhaps a cup of tea or a glass of wine. A quiet moment to be yourself.
We do not have to turn June into a grand occasion. We can simply enjoy it.
